Today I didn't explore quite as much of La Crosse as I thought I might, but thanks to Christine, I checked out Riverside Park. It was beautiful at dusk! It turns out that this picture is blurry too, and I realized that I was shaking as I snapped it. It's COLD out! Too cold to wander around and I couldn't find parking today...
I also had to get back in time to meet some new friends for dinner! Yes, that's right, I think I've made a friend! :) At Bethany Church the first Sunday I was here, the woman sitting behind me introduced herself to me after the service and we got to talking for awhile. She's about my age and it turns out that she and her husband had just moved to La Crosse about 5 months ago. We exchanged phone numbers and yesterday I decided to just call and see if they wanted to join me somewhere for dinner. They did! We ended up going to Piggy's (www.piggys.com) which is a great smokehouse here in downtown La Crosse and enjoyed some great food and conversation! People at work thought I was a little crazy to just call up these strangers and want to eat dinner together, but I'm glad I trusted my instinct that they were fun and normal people!
The fact that they were stopping by was also good motivation to clean my apartment a little. I thought I'd share what the living room and kitchen look like now that I'm more settled.

I love the pictures of D on the frig - and, may I mention, that is ALOT of shoes for one person? Do you have company or shall we call you Imelda Joy.

The apartment looks great! And I'm so glad that you are making friends! That makes anyplace seem more like home.
Candis, you're hilarious!! You know how important it is for a woman to have her brown shoes and brown boots and black shoes and tennis shoes for everyday and tennis shoes for the gym and.... the list could go on....
By the way, the next post's description is just for you!!
:)
Ah, Kari. A good laugh at our blogs, huh?
