Because He Lives!

Happy Easter! What a glorious day it is, Jesus Christ lives!

There are so many wonderful hymns and songs about Easter that I enjoy, but as I was spending a little time on YouTube this morning listening to them, I found the one I wanted to share with you today.

"Because He Lives"

Written by the Gaithers, here are the lyrics:
          God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
          He came to love, heal and forgive;
          He lived and died to buy my pardon,
          An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!
            Chorus
            Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
            Because He lives, all fear is gone;
            Because I know He holds the future,
            And life is worth the living,
            Just because He lives!

          How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
          And feel the pride and joy he gives;
          But greater still the calm assurance:
          This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

            Chorus
            Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
            Because He lives, all fear is gone;
            Because I know He holds the future,
            And life is worth the living,
            Just because He lives!

          And then one day, I'll cross the river,
          I'll fight life's final war with pain;
          And then, as death gives way to vict'ry,
          I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!

            Chorus
            Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
            Because He lives, all fear is gone;
            Because I know He holds the future,
            And life is worth the living,
            Just because He lives!

Matthew 28
5The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.'"

Thank you, Jesus!

I love this hymn! I had it in a collection that I played during the labor and delivery of both of my girls. It gave me peace and hope to keep thinking toward holding that newborn baby :) Happy Easter Kari. I also really loved your photo story of your nephew's birthday. What a cutie.

This song was ringing in my mind this Easter season too. One of my favorites! The words are so great besides. Thanks for sharing it.
